Child and Adolescent Evaluations:
Evaluations are done in three one hour long sessions. Older children and adolescents may be seen first and parents interviewed in the second session. Parents of younger children usually are interviewed in the first session. The third evaluation session is the interpretive session during which diagnosis and treatment options are reviewed. Adolescents are usually included in this session. At times, younger children may be included in the interpretive session if appropriate. This approach allows for ample time and discussion needed for accurate diagnosis and establishment of a comprehensive treatment plan. The sessions are usually scheduled a week apart, however, there is opportunity for complete evaluations to take place in one two hour session if necessary.
Adult Evaluations:
Adult evaluations are scheduled in two sessions. The first session includes a diagnostic interview. The follow up session is the interpretive session in which diagnosis and treatment recommendations are discussed.
